We blinked and TWO YEARS have gone by!
Two years have passed since the beginning of this journey. This milestone is possible because of the team of artists and clients.
“When you love what you do, you don’t work a day in your life”.
This is 100% true for all 17 active artists and the 4 back-up artists also on our roster!
What makes us different?
Excellent question! We encourage our artists to EXPRESS THEMSELVES and their artistic abilities as they customize the artform you chose. Whether it’s with face painting, glitter tattoos or henna tattoos, our artists take their talents, training and personal experiences and create original works of art. We encourage free expression and customization to all our artforms, so (unless specifically requested to mirror something specifically) every artform is an original and unique creative work!
Is that all? HECK NO!
Beyond the Brushstrokes: A Team Effort. We also cross train so if a team of artists are at an event and one service is busier than another, that artist can step up and help! Most of our artists are trained in all our services and offer the support needed as we work together as a team! We train, cross train and meet as often as we can to introduce new designs, share tips and tricks and to keep our ideas fresh and trending.
A Diverse Family United by Art: We are also a family of diversity. We come from all experiences and talents! We have musicians, graphic designers, a theater scene painter, a HR manager, marketing and design professionals, teachers and professors and college students majoring in vast disciplines such as biology, psychology, graphic design, music education, fine arts and special education, who are all phenomenal artists. We have literal families united on this team! Two mother daughter teams, one team of sisters, one mother son AND daughter team and all have become one family under the Expressions’ brand.
What is next?
We are constantly seeking process improvement, communication improvement, artistic improvement and being in touch and in tune with our community and our clients. We had four new face designs for the summer, which we have decided to carry over onto our festival selection. We are learning and adding Jagua to our options. Don’t know what Jagua is? We offer “line management” solutions which includes a WAIT LIST (call back) so time is not spent waiting in line. We also have new signs and line stanchions that help organize those who are waiting for our services.
SOON we plan on creating fun interactive videos on all our social media platforms that will show how we make and care for our henna, highlight event experiences and get a behind the scenes look at what it takes to prepare for events.
As we all prepare for the busy fall season we have approaching, and as we reflect on the last 2 years, the feeling we all share is GRATITUDE! Serving communities in Central Illinois (and growing beyond) is an honor for us all. The partnerships we have made, the connections with our clients and the interactions with the public bring us immense joy.
THANK YOU for these two years!!!
WE LITERALLY could not have done it without all of YOU!
With Gratitude,
