Future Forward: Welcoming the Year 2026
Happy New Year!!! After a VERY busy 2025, sitting by the glow of a decorated tree that will come down tomorrow and reflecting on the past year, I feel very blessed. But I can also say, “WOW”, what a year to reflect on!
2025 started off, like every new year, with the blank canvas of possibilities and a whole lot of ambition and drive. 2025 in that regard did not disappoint. With a growing crew and a growing network of opportunities we were ready for the experiences that 2025 offered. We trained a 2nd generation of artists in our off season and continued to train and cross train our current artists. We were ready!
In April, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. That wasn’t on my agenda! After learning my options, treatment plan(s) and meeting with my team of doctors, I ended up having 3 surgeries (1 in May and 2 in June) and then the recovery from all of them. In August I had a month long schedule of radiation (5 days a week for 4 weeks = 20 sessions). The recovery from radiation was not what I was expecting. Needless to say, there were a lot of unforeseen life circumstances that needed to be addressed in the moment and couldn’t wait until it was more convenient. 🙂 With a leadership team already established and a wonderful crew of talented, flexible and team-minded artists, we didn’t skip a beat. I “rang the bell” on September 4th. I also worked more than I probably should, but we all define “rest and healing” differently. Being active, at events, around positive energy IS what helps me heal and rest…and bring JOY and SMILES was perfect for recovery! AND being an advocate for early detection is now part of Expressions’ direction moving forward.Â
Other advocacies we are going to participate in this year to bring awareness to and a spotlight on is mental health, small business empowerment, and human rights for all, regardless of how those choose to present themselves to the world. Being your genuine self to live your genuine life is important to us, as we are all a very diverse team of humans who live with honor and respect for one another. We wish to spread that into the world whenever we can through our art, our acceptance and our gratitude for each other and those that offer the opportunities to do so.Â
Again this year, with the continued economic uncertainty and rising costs, we will be keeping our prices the SAME, which includes all services in all categories (retail & hourly/sponsored). We recognize that entertainment and services such as ours is the extra to events and we want to keep it that way!! What you paid in 2023-2025 will be the same that you will pay in 2026! Our team appreciates all of our clients, sponsors and the network of friends that have made or journey and growth possible and we value each and every one of you!
In 2026 we are adding additional training and workshops for the current artists as well as a onboarding structure for new artists being added. The leadership team is also attending the MAX Conference in March 2026Â to collaborate and learn from artists all over the country. Stay tuned for new services to be added this spring as well.Â
I want to give a HUGE thank you, appreciation and gratitude to the WHOLE Expressions team for a historic 2025! It is ONLY together that we make this business successful and joyful.Â
With Joy and Gratitude,
Holly Johnson
